Seeing with my Own Eyes
Being on staff with DFM for the last 2 years I have heard all about what is going on in Guatemala, but from a distance; the answers to prayer, the beautiful products, and the impact on the people, but I longed to see it for myself.
I was so grateful when an opportunity opened up during July of this year. But preparing for this trip was a big task for this mama.
Embracing Each Moment with Grace
Have you ever found yourself looking back and realizing you missed the significance of a moment? Maybe it was a conversation with a loved one, a moment with your child, an opportunity to help a stranger or a quiet moment with the Lord. Often, we are too consumed with our daily routines and distractions to notice these precious instances until they are gone.
Ministry Update August 2024
Reba’s Recovery and Recent Travels
First and foremost, our CEO, Reba, is recovering remarkably well from her recent knee replacement surgery. She still has several months of recovery before she is expected to be back to normal, but she just returned from a fruitful trip to Guatemala. We ask for your continued prayers for her healing and strength as her travel schedule picks back up and she begins to get back to her normal schedule.
Ministry Update 7/1/24
It’s been an incredible few weeks for our ministry, filled with enriching experiences, meaningful connections, and impactful conversations. I wish I could take you with me so that you could see firsthand how God is at work in the hearts and lives of women.
Misplaced Hope
Hope… when you are full of it, you and everyone else know it. When you are empty of it, you and everyone else know it too. Hope brings motivation, brings perseverance, brings determination, brings something out of us that people long for. Lack of hope brings fear, brings lethargy, brings despair, brings us to the place where we do not even want to get out of bed.
Becoming a Family
Sometimes you don’t know the full extent of your impact until healing begins and a safe stable home is established. Here at Dare for More we desire to create an environment of safety, freedom, love, compassion, healing, and ultimately family.
Unraveling the Mystery of Joy
Is anyone really full of joy? It's a question we might ask ourselves amid the humdrum of daily life. Sure, we sing about it, we read verses about it, but how often do we truly experience it? As we navigate through the mundane chores, the rush-hour traffic, and the constant demands of life, the concept of joy can seem as elusive as a fleeting dream.
Guard Your Hearts
Guard our hearts”, that’s what He said…He knew us all too well. I am speaking to the redeemed one, to the one who calls herself a believer, a Christ-follower.
Why would He say that?
Tere: Bringing Joy in a Place of Crisis
Meet Tere, our baking instructor whose journey is a testament to resilience and determination. Growing up as one of six children in her family, Tere faced early hardships when her father left, leaving her mother to support the family. At just 7 years old, Tere found herself shouldering responsibilities beyond her years, helping care for her siblings while her mother worked tirelessly to make ends meet.
Ministry Update
It’s been an exciting season for Dare for More over the past few months. Our transition into a new office space has been a significant blessing.
Brave & Courageous
The phone rings, and the team springs into action. Beds are prepared, clothes are gathered, and a meeting is called to prepare the home for new members. The facts about each person never tell the full story, but they are enough to cause our team to feel the sadness deep in their hearts.
Celebrating Growth & Development
I am thrilled to share the exciting developments within our team in Guatemala, as their growth in various aspects generates much anticipation for the upcoming opening of our safe house.
Ministry Update 2/24
Some days in life are easier to rejoice than others. On the tough days we do mental gymnastics trying to remember the goodness of God and the reasons we have to find joy in Him. But sprinkled through the tough days of life are these moments when we overflow.
What Everyone Wants from Us
Oprah Winfrey was the queen of the interview for many years on her show. People from all walks of life sat down with her to talk about their work, their lives, and their dreams. According to an article in Inc. magazine, Oprah conducted over 37,000 interviews, and in these interviews, she learned what people value.
Slow Down, Look Around
We have quieted the house and the jingle bells. We have stored away our beloved Christmas vinyl records, yet a few twinkle lights remain. We seem to tie the bow on the beauty of advent only to rush into resolutions.
