Ministry Update
New Office Space
It’s been an exciting season for Dare for More over the past few months. Our transition into a new office space has been a significant blessing. This space has not only brought our team together under one roof, but it has also enhanced our productivity and collaboration for the greater good of the ministry. If you’re ever in Chattanooga, we’d be delighted to show you around and share the inner workings of DFM. One area our team is particularly thrilled about is the product room. No longer are we searching through tubs in my garage. Now, everything is neatly shelved, organized, and ready for your orders. It’s a joy to walk in and see the beautiful products crafted by our women in Guatemala.
My Travels
I have been bouncing from Connecticut to Virginia and from East Coast to West Coast, sharing about Dare for More and teaching and encouraging women. Although there is nothing glamorous about living out of a suitcase, I love this part of my job. I have a sacred trust to represent the women and children to those who may never get to meet them or even know their names. I also feel the sacredness of moments when you can sense the presence of God moving into a room while I am teaching. While in Virginia at the Women’s Prayer Advance, we had a session where God was really stirring in the hearts of the women. You could sense His presence moving and calling women to ask Him for more. Before I could even get to the time of prayer and response, women began to rise up from their seats and move toward the altar. At these moments, you know it’s your time to be quiet and let the Holy Spirit work. I rejoiced in my own spirit as I saw the altar and aisles filled with women surrendering their lives and begging God to use them. These are the moments that make hotel beds, traffic jams, and delayed flights worth it.
Guatemala Update
Our team in Guatemala is doing great. They are working long hours and being stretched to the end of their abilities every day. God, in his faithfulness, is showing up and giving them wisdom, courage, and creativity to be His hands and feet. Just a few weeks ago, I sat in the house and listened to children’s music playing over the little speaker upstairs. I could hear the laughter of the kids, moms, and staff as they sang and danced their way through the tune. I smiled and cried all at the same time because that laughter means the children are safe and free from the bondage of their former lives. Our moms have to be brave as they unpack their stories and ask for justice from the court system. It’s a lot! But it’s good! Please keep praying for our very full house and for each soul represented in its keeping. Pray for our team as they navigate dark places. And pray for the justice system in Guatemala. We ask God for protection, for the truth to be brought into the light, and for justice to be served.
Mission Trips
Mission trips fill the calendar for the rest of the year. Lisa Potter, our team leader, will be spending more time in Guatemala than in the USA over the next few months. Our prayer for each team is that they allow what they see to affect their heart. Maybe God will call them to serve somewhere on the mission field. Maybe they will be moved to partner with us and the women we serve in a greater way than ever before. Regardless, we believe that God will work in each heart and life as each team serves our women, children, and the work in Guatemala. Follow us on social media to see pictures of team projects and all the great things that God does over the summer months.
