Seeds of Change
One of things the women at the safe house are doing is gardening to produce their own vegetables and herbs for food for the safe house. What is really awesome to see is that the women are gaining confidence with each new task they are learning.
The Prayer of Two Children
One thing that’s unique about our safe house, is that we accept mothers and their children. One of the precious families in our safe house is a mother and her six children. Before entering our home, one of her daughters was removed from her house due to the abuse, and placed in an orphanage. Because this mother sought refuge in our safe house, we were able to immediately pursue reuniting this mom and her daughter.
Becoming a Family
Sometimes you don’t know the full extent of your impact until healing begins and a safe stable home is established. Here at Dare for More we desire to create an environment of safety, freedom, love, compassion, healing, and ultimately family.
Tere: Bringing Joy in a Place of Crisis
Meet Tere, our baking instructor whose journey is a testament to resilience and determination. Growing up as one of six children in her family, Tere faced early hardships when her father left, leaving her mother to support the family. At just 7 years old, Tere found herself shouldering responsibilities beyond her years, helping care for her siblings while her mother worked tirelessly to make ends meet.
Brave & Courageous
The phone rings, and the team springs into action. Beds are prepared, clothes are gathered, and a meeting is called to prepare the home for new members. The facts about each person never tell the full story, but they are enough to cause our team to feel the sadness deep in their hearts.
