Meet Ana

Our Newest Administrative Assistant!

We are excited to introduce you to the newest member of our team at DFM.  Meet Ana Ricardo!

Briefly tell us how you came to know the Lord.

For a long time I searched for an answer to fill a void that I felt inside of me. The Lord in His infinite grace led me to Him one week night, as I was leaving a college class, not imagining that the message about Jesus, the Son of God, who loved me and that He could carry my burden and that I could rest in Him was what I needed and had been searching for so long. Even though I had heard about Jesus all my life, that night was when I met Him.

Tell us a little about your family.

My husband Luke and I finally moved in together after several years of immigration. My husband is a talented musician and the worship minister at our church here in the United States. The rest of my family lives in the Dominican Republic.

I know Spanish is actually your first language, what is your background?

I am originally from the Dominican Republic. I grew up in the city of San Pedro de Macorís (where we love baseball). I studied Marketing and have been working in ministry since 2009 at my mother church IBEM until 2023 when I moved to the United States.

How did you hear about Dare for More?

I met DFM in 2012, when Reba and Lisa came to my church in the Dominican Republic (IBEM) for a women's conference, as speakers. Since then, DFM has been working with Mercy Workshop, a ministry where I collaborated for more than 10 years.

What drew your heart to desire to begin serving at Dare for More?

I have known DFM for many years and I know well the desire to help the most vulnerable and spread the Word of God. It is a desire that we share. I have served together with DFM in Ecuador, Cuba and the Dominican Republic. Not only do we share the same desire to serve others, but also a beautiful friendship and love as sisters in Christ.

What are your responsibilities at Dare for More?

My title is Administrative Assistant. My main responsibility is a support to Lisa and Reba.

What passage(s) of scripture has had a great impact on your life lately and why?

Exodus 33:15. This passage has been with me for a long time, throughout the process of moving from my home country to the United States and all the changes that this represented. Just as God guided the people of Israel when they left Egypt, in the same way my soul sought God's guidance. If He does not go with me, I do not want to take any steps in that direction.

What are a few simple things that bring you joy in your life?

Well, I really enjoy a good cup of coffee, working with my plants, trying new recipes and shopping at thrift stores.
