Once upon a time. These are the words that have drawn us in since we were children. From Cinderella to Narnia, a great story will captivate and leave us full of emotion. It’s amazing how it happens.
Movies have changed that “once upon a time” to almost touchable as characters come to life on the big screen. We connect, identify, and feel with them from start to finish. It’s powerful.
But if we lift our heads from the pages or the screen, we find stories going on all around us. Real people experiencing life uncut and without the orchestration.
I would like to invite you to step into their stories with us.
On February 1-6, 2018, I will be leading a team of women to the Dominican Republic. You will have the opportunity to walk alongside women and young girls whose lives resemble battlefields. They have fought to be where they are and they are still fighting every day to put one foot forward. You will share in their victories and see how hope is springing forth from pain and sorrow. Your story will impact theirs — it’s amazing how it happens.
You will eat meals with missionaries who have their own stories and yet they have chosen to blend their lives with others to become part of the great story. They will guide us and teach us so much along the way. It’s powerful.
Once upon a time.
I hope you will prayerfully consider joining us and being part of one of the most exciting stories the world has ever known. There is nothing more special than riding next to the Prince of Peace as he delivers help and hope to those in need. Or watching the excitement on dozens of little faces as they enjoy the blessings that God gives through your hands.
It may sound silly to you but nothing could be further from the truth. This is not a trip of fairy tales but of real lives who are in need of connection, prayer, friendship, encouragement, and so much more. For one week we leave our world and we enter theirs. We mesh our story with theirs. We learn from each other. And nothing is ever quite the same.
Join us — you won’t regret it!
