November has been a big month for DFM’s newest global endeavor, Hearts & Hope, and the Greenville, SC area has shown us so much love. Several weekends ago we launched our very first Hearts & Hope event at North Hills Community Church. The women of that church invited the community and it was an amazing night as hundreds of women heard the stories, saw the vision, and got involved by purchasing products, getting information on taking a trip, and giving a donation.
This past weekend we returned to the Greenville area to set up a booth at the GCA Fall Festival. This event was outdoors with over 90 vendors, kids fun park, food, and much more. It was a beautiful day and hundreds of people stopped by to shop, let their children play, and grab some great food. We set up a booth to sell the purses and jewelry made by the amazing rescued artisans from the Dominican Republic.
It’s hard to comprehend that when you buy a purse or a necklace you are helping a woman feed her family for a week. And that is just the beginning! Through the purchase of these items little girls are safe from traffickers, women have jobs that provide dignity and worth, counseling and medical needs are being supplied, and the good news of the gospel is being given to each one.
We are so grateful for the many people who live in the Greenville area who stopped by and talked to us and those who took information to find out more about how they could get involved. And a huge shout out to those who took action and partnered with us financially.
It’s happening! God is doing the work and He is connecting people to opportunities to be a part of this great operation of rescue and redemption. It is beyond cool!
