Yesterday we had the joy of watching girls have fun. They laughed as they splashed and played in the river. They caught a fish and put him in a bottle, only to sadly say goodbye a few minutes later as they realized that fish were not meant to live in bottles. They caught river crabs and laughed hysterically as the American women shrieked.
Fifteen lucky women became Tia (aunt) for the day to over 30 girls. Many of these girls live in a safe house. Others are at risk but are being cared for and blessed by Joy Reyes and the wonderful staff at New Hope. Hikes, picnic lunches, and splashing around in the river might not sound like much but for little girls who do not have these experiences very often, yesterday was a big deal.
I wish could I could post lots of pictures but we protect them with the fierceness of a mother bear, so close your eyes and see it in your mind. Pray for us as we work hard today on special projects and as we take a trip to touch new lives with Hope.
Nothing beats women on mission!
